Identification of Kerogen Macerals by Transmission Light – Fluorescence

1. Principle of Identification of Kerogen Macerals by Transmission Light – Fluorescence

The extracted kerogen was made into thin sections and observed under a biological microscope. Blue light was injected to stimulate fluorescence.Different kerogen components present different morphology and fluorescence color. The main macerals are: sapropelic group (phytoplankton, sapropelic amorphous), EXINITE group (resinite, cork, cuticle, sporopollen, fungus spore, humic amorphous, benthic algae amorphous), vitrinite group (normal vitrinite, hydrogen rich vitrinite), inertinite group. The percentage content of macerals was calculated by point measurement or visual estimation. The type index calculation and type division were carried out.
